Christmas may feel different this year but here at SIAL school we have been working hard to spread some Christmas cheer.
First of all we learnt what ‘Avvento/Advent’ means, which comes from the latin ‘Adventus’ and means ‘arrivo/coming’; after that, to get into the festive spirit, we planned lots of activities for the whole month of December.
Santa’s Letter Box
From the 1st December until the end of term, children can use our Santa letter box to post their Christmas cards. Our special reindeer delivers every day!
It was touching seeing such an exchange of friendship and care.
Christmas Art & Craft Activities
Children in our Early Years classes have been decorating their own Christmas jumpers and their classrooms, while children in KS1 made their Christingles.
Christmas Tree Contest
Our children are all enjoying working as a group to decorate their class Christmas tree to enter the school competition. Who is going to win? We can’t wait to find out!
Christmas may feel different this year, but our Parents Association will not miss the opportunity of bringing our community together to celebrate and have fun with a COVID-free Christmas raffle.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of all the parents and carers who have kindly donated fantastic prizes. It all contributes to making the Festive season particularly special this year.
From 10th to 18th December it is Hanukkah and all our pupils will be learning about this festival and the traditions involved.
As you can see December is a very busy month at SIAL school! And that’s not all.
We are already thinking about next year – we can’t wait for our pupils to come back after a well-deserved break for new exciting days at school.
