Carnevale all’italiana – Celebrating with the Italian community in London
December 21, 2022Who is it? An original TV programme created by SIAL.school’s pupils and Complitaly
June 22, 2023We are getting ready to celebrate World Book Day at school, but this year we really want to engage the local community and offer more children the opportunity to fall in love with books and reading.
We challenged our pupils to review some beautiful books, by analysing the story, the characters, the author’s style and sharing their own opinion on what they liked and maybe disliked.
Children in KS2 used a very special format, on which we are practicing at school: a one-pager allows children to take the key points from what they have learned and highlight them on a single sheet of paper. It improves their ability to synthesize and sparks creativity.
We are honoured to collaborate with North Kensington Library and The Italian Bookshop, which will both host a lovely display of our children’s reviews over the next few weeks.
If you are in the area make sure to pop by and have a look: let us know if you find some inspiration for your and your children’s next choice of reading from these catchy reviews!
