We are currently looking for an experienced Finance Administrator to join our team.

Full-time, option to work from home during school holidays

40 hours (Monday to Friday)

Finance Administrator (Full-Time)

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Finance Administrator to join our school’s administrative team. This is a key role supporting the financial operations of the school and ensuring effective budget and cash flow management, accurate payroll, and compliance with financial and safeguarding regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll: Manage monthly payroll in collaboration with external payroll providers. Ensure timely and accurate salary payments and proper record- keeping.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor the school’s financial health and ensure appropriate liquidity and forecasting.
  • Budget Administration: Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and review of the school’s budget. Support internal reporting and reconciliation of expenditures.
  • Invoices & Payments: Process supplier invoices, track payments, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Budget Oversight for Key Stage Departments: Supervise and support the management of departmental budgets across all key stages.
  • Italian Consulate Documents: Prepare and submit required financial documents for the Italian Consulate, including consuntivo and proiezione di budget.
  • Premises Financial Support: Monitor and administer financial elements related to premises management (e.g., maintenance costs, service contracts).
  • General Administrative Duties: Carry out any other tasks reasonably requested, in line with the role’s purpose.

Reporting Line

  • Reports directly to the Headteacher.
  • Works closely with the leadership team, premises manager, and administrative support staff.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous experience in finance, ideally in a school or educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, budgeting, and payroll systems
  •  High proficiency in Excel and financial software
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Fluency in both Italian and English (spoken and written)  

Desirable:

  • Experience with school-specific financial systems
  • Knowledge of UK education finance regulations
