Our curriculum reflects this vision. We call it BRAINS:
B – Bilingual and Bi-curricular
Learning unfolds in both English and Italian daily, combining two rigorous curricula to develop deep thinking skills, cognitive flexibility and cultural fluency.

Our school’s weekly values
At our school, we believe that a strong foundation of core values is essential to shaping a nurturing and effective learning environment. Our weekly values are carefully designed to inspire and cultivate these principles, which are at the heart of everything we do. These values are not just taught—they are lived. Our staff model them daily, ensuring that children experience and embrace them throughout their learning journey.
Respect
At SIAL school we are respectful by speaking in turns, by sharing toys and resources, by lining up nicely, by speaking to each other with kindness, and by having manners.
Kindness
At SIAL school we are kind by taking care of each other’s safety and emotions, by making sure that our words don’t hurt others, by looking after all living creatures, and by seeking to understand before making judgments.
Honesty
At SIAL school we are honest by telling the truth even when it is hard to say it and by giving our opinion with kindness and respect. Being honest can be difficult because it takes great courage and strength. When you are honest you are also courageous.

Equality, diversity and inclusion
The principles of Equality and Diversity are essential to our work.
At SIAL.school we actively work to ensure that all children and adults are given every opportunity to achieve, to recognise their own worth and to play an important part in our community.
A key part of our plan for education is to ensure children become valuable and fully rounded members of society who treat others with respect and tolerance, regardless of their background.
Our History
SIAL.school began as a project in 2004, when a group of Italian citizens reached out to the large community of Italians living in London to gauge interest in setting up an Italian school.
2007Our Charity was set up
In July 2007 the charity which to this day manages the school (SIAL.charity, La Scuola Italiana a Londra, Reg. Charity no. 1119966), was set up and started raising funds to open the school.
2010Our school opened its doors
The School opened the nursery on the 8th of September 2010. Since then, the Board of Trustees has managed the business side of the school and supported its continual development through fundraising campaigns and various activities.
2012Our first Y1 class
The Primary School opened on 11th September 2012 with the Y1 class. Today the school has completed the primary cycle and educates children from the age of 3 to 11.
2016Our new building
The school widens and rents a new building, thanks to the support of Ambassador Pasquale Q. Terracciano.

2023A secondary school
Together with a group of Italian parents living in London, we are currently exploring the idea of widening our educational offer by opening a fully bilingual and bi-curricular secondary school.

Promoting the Italian language and culture
Since its foundation in 2007, SIAL.charity has worked to promote the knowledge and support the understanding of the Italian language and culture in the UK, not only through the provision of a bilingual English-Italian education at SIAL.school, but also through the offering of courses, clubs and events open to the general public, under the brand SIAL.courses.
