Our Vision and Values

Your child is unique, so is our school.

At SIAL.school, we believe in the importance of giving children the opportunity to be heard as well as getting involved in shaping their future. Our aim is to create a positive and inclusive community within the school that prepares children for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

Learning with purpose, growing with confidence

SIAL.school is a vibrant, nurturing educational setting where bilingualism, culture and ambition come together to create something truly special. Here, learning is not only rigorous. It is joyful, purposeful and personal.

We are proud to offer a unique approach that combines the best of both the Italian and British systems.
Our community is united by a shared belief in the power of education to broaden horizons and build lasting confidence.

We believe in teamwork, bringing together students, families and our dedicated school staff so that every child is challenged, supported, inspired and, above all, safe. We value high expectations, strong relationships and a clear sense of identity. Our students leave us not only well-prepared for academic success, but also equipped with empathy, resilience, honesty and self-awareness to navigate the world with confidence.

B.R.A.I.N.S.: our curriculum, our values

Our curriculum reflects this vision. We call it BRAINS:

B – Bilingual and Bi-curricular
Learning unfolds in both English and Italian daily, combining two rigorous curricula to develop deep thinking skills, cognitive flexibility and cultural fluency.

R- Rooted in Culture
Our students grow up with a strong sense of belonging, respect for diverse perspectives and traditions, and a commitment to becoming responsible global citizens.

A – Ambition-Driven
Our approach is purposeful and well-structured. We encourage children to set high goals, and we guide them every step of the way.

I – Inclusive Community
We nurture respectful and kind individuals, and foster a community where everyone feels valued and respected.

N – Nurturing Confidence
Our small classes enable us to truly get to know each child. We cultivate independence, curiosity, courage and creativity from the earliest years.

S – Strong Identity and Global Outlook
Our students are grounded in who they are and prepared to contribute thoughtfully and openly to the wider world.

Diversity and Inclusion

Equality, diversity and inclusion

The principles of Equality and Diversity are essential to our work.

At SIAL.school we actively work to ensure that all children and adults are given every opportunity to achieve, to recognise their own worth and to play an important part in our community.

A key part of our plan for education is to ensure children become valuable and fully rounded members of society who treat others with respect and tolerance, regardless of their background.

Our History

SIAL.school began as a project in 2004, when a group of Italian citizens reached out to the large community of Italians living in London to gauge interest in setting up an Italian school.

  • 2007Our Charity was set up

In July 2007 the charity which to this day manages the school (SIAL.charity, La Scuola Italiana a Londra, Reg. Charity no. 1119966), was set up and started raising funds to open the school.

  • 2010Our school opened its doors

The School opened the nursery on the 8th of September 2010. Since then, the Board of Trustees has managed the business side of the school and supported its continual development through fundraising campaigns and various activities.

  • 2012Our first Y1 class

The Primary School opened on 11th September 2012 with the Y1 class. Today the school has completed the primary cycle and educates children from the age of 3 to 11.

  • 2016Our new building

The school widens and rents a new building, thanks to the support of Ambassador Pasquale Q. Terracciano.

Promoting the Italian language and culture

Since its foundation in 2007, SIAL.charity has worked to promote the knowledge and support the understanding of the Italian language and culture in the UK, not only through the provision of a bilingual English-Italian education at SIAL.school, but also through the offering of courses, clubs and events open to the general public, under the brand SIAL.courses.
